The London Freshwater Group was founded in 1973 to promote the ideals of freshwater sciences.


Members meet to exchange views and keep up to date with freshwater industry, science and conservation issues.


Meetings consist of  presentations on subjects such as recent research, conservation activity, industry and management issues and usually end with a social at a local hostelry.  Summer meetings may include barbeques/meals or similar.


LFG Calendar: Meetings occur two or three times a year; normally Spring (March) and Autumn (November) with occasional summer meetings/events. Venues vary but spring meetngs occur in the meeting rooms of the Linnean Society Burlington House, Piccadilly.


A broad cross-section of individuals involved in the water industry, fisheries, consultancy, conservation and academia. Students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels are especially welcome.


Subscription: Members pay a sub. (currently £2.00) each meeting they attend. Other costs, such as for barbeques, etc vary depending on the nature of the event.
